The Foreign Affair Winery is delighted to announce that Colossal Failure of the Modern Relationship had its theatrical release at the Carlton Cinema in Toronto on Friday, June 23. The movie’s film crew visited our winery a few years ago and our proprietors Len and Marisa were on hand to host the creative team. Look for shots of the interior and exterior of our winery. Enjoy the preview below:
Film Description: Through the main characters, Cat (Krista Bridges) and Freddy (Enrico Colantoni), we are taken to the honeymoon capital of the world where circumstance and the lush romantic setting create the perfect backdrop for fun, adventure and, ultimately, disaster. A comedy, Directed by Sergio Navarretta, written by Alessandra Piccione.
Foreign Affair Winery, the Canadian pioneer in producing appassimento wines, and Zenato Winery, Italy’s prestigious producer of amarone wines, teamed together on June 13, 2017 for an extraordinary evening of Italian fare at the iconic Biagio Ristorante in downtown Toronto.
The dinner celebrated Canadian and Italian success in innovative premium winemaking. The very idea of such a joint event seemed remote a few years ago. Today it represents a testament of how a Canadian innovative winery can compete with the very best in the world–right here in our own backyard of Niagara.
The evening was a spectacular showpiece of appassimento excellence, from Italy (where it all began) and Canada (where it was further innovated with classic vinifera grapes and different climactic conditions).
This unique dinner offered an entertaining and educational experience featuring wines made exclusively in the appassimento style. All wines were carefully selected to be paired with the seasonal multi-course meal, inspired by Italian-Canadian culinary traditions, crafted by Biagio and his Executive Chef.
