Len Crispino, Proprietor
Len’s passion is in producing big bold red and elegant white wines from Ontario grapes and sharing them with Canadians and beyond. But before he became the owner of Foreign Affair Winery, Len served as the chief trade representative to Italy promoting Ontario’s trade and investment and was awarded the Order of Italy for fostering business ties between Canada and Italy. Len holds an MBA in marketing and received ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has served both on publicly traded and private corporations. Recognitions have included: Business Leader of the Year from New York State Niagara University; Queen’s Golden Jubilee Award; and Chair of Niagara College Board of Governors.
Marisa Crispino, Proprietor
Marisa is responsible for overseeing the winery’s staff and handles the support service relationships. She has experience and talent in interior design for small to mid-sized businesses. Her keen eye has been instrumental to the winery’s beautiful design elements and overall feel to a welcoming atmosphere. Previous to her life at the winery, she ran a very successful private physiotherapy business for 10 years after working as a professional physiotherapist in multiple medical and rehabilitation settings.
Louis Cimicata, Partner
Louis manages the winery’s inventory allocations, logistics for wine deliveries, and bottling coordination. He had a long career as an entrepreneur in the automotive support sector which gives him good perspective to his current role. Louis is a willing participant in all of the winery’s endeavours.
Caitlin Kern, General Manager
Caitlin started at Foreign Affair Winery in 2010 as a tasting bar associate and over the years expanded her role at the winery. Caitlin graduated from Niagara College’s Tourism Management Business Development Program and completed her Event Management Post Grad. She further increased her wine studies by completing the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Advanced Certificate in 2014. In 2016 Caitlin was recognized for her achievements and awarded Top 30 Under 30 by the Ontario Hostelry Institute.
Barclay Robinson, Winemaker & Oenologist
Barclay completed his BSc (honours) from Brock University in Oenology and Viticulture in 2009. He is sommelier certified through the International Sommelier Guild with 10 years of hospitality experience in Calgary. Barclay has produced many award winning wines recognized at numerous international wine competitions.
Moosimo, Social Media Darling
Moosimo is the larger-than-life Canadian Moose that greets visitors at the entrance to the winery. He arrived at the winery in 2015 and has already appeared in hundreds of photos and has become a social media darling!
