Gran Q 2016
The nose on this wine is luxurious with layers of rich cocoa, vanilla bean, butterscotch, cherry compote, black fig and coffee. The palate is rich and powerful with flavours of dried cherry and currants, honeyed figs, crème brûlée, baked cherry pastry and chocolate. Elegant tannins frame the bold flavours and lead to an incredibly long finish.

Winemaking Notes
The 2016 vintage was hot and sunny, the vines produced fruit with very ripe flavours and lower acidity – a great Niagara vintage! This wine is a blend of our appassimento Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes which were hand-harvested throughout October and November then set aside to dry naturally for 100 days. This wine fermented on the skins, was pressed, and then aged in select French and American oak barrels for 18 months. Enjoy now after a lengthy decant, or continue to cellar through to the year 2031.

Food Pairing
The 2016 Gran Q pairs naturally with full flavoured dishes like slow roasted beef or game, chateaubriand or prime rib, osso bucco, stuffed peppers, mushroom risotto, blue and firm cheeses, charcuterie or a fine cigar.
