A one of a kind, Amarone influenced rosé – inspiring the name of this flavourful wine. On the nose, the Amarosé holds aromas of wild strawberry, fresh peach, apricot, mango and Fuji apple. The palate has flavours of summer fruit to match the nose, and an elegant mid-palate weight finishing with a mouth-watering citrus acidity. Enjoy now to take full advantage of this wines vibrant fruit and freshness, it will continue to evolve well through to 2023.
The 2019 vintage saw warm and humid conditions throughout the summer resulting in the need for extra care and investment measures in the vineyard. Harvest was later than usual, but the fruit was healthy, flavourful and ripe! A Ripasso style wine, meaning the grapes were harvested, fermented, and aged separately before final blending. The wine was then re-passed over the skins and lees of our Appassimento (dried) Chardonnay grapes giving the wine added depth and flavour. The delicate pink colour of this wine comes from the 6 hours the Pinot Noir and Gamay Noir juice spent fermenting on-skin. The wine was fermented and aged in stainless steel.
Delightful on its own on the patio, or as a welcoming beverage for guests. This wine pairs perfectly with summer salads, calamari, fish tacos, roasted chicken, grilled rainbow trout, pork tenderloin, Moroccan couscous, or turkey burgers.
"It pours pale salmon pink and shows a gentle, quite subtle nose of red cherry, strawberry jam, dried flower and vague spice. It is medium-full bodied but only 12.2%, with some sense of richness yet freshness as well. The balance is very good indeed, the length as well. There is a pleasant sour cherry skin bitterness on the finish. Tasted April 2020." - 4 stars from David Lawrason - WineAlign
