The nose on this wine shows aromas of red currant, raspberry, wild strawberry, red cherry, pomegranate and slight baking spice. The palate is fruit forward with gentle tannins and flavours of red cherry, raspberry and pomegranate.
The 2017 vintage was cooler than average but with a warm trend just before harvest which allowed for the grapes to fully ripen.
A Ripasso style wine with the Gamay and Pinot Noir grapes harvested, pressed and fermented in stainless steel. The wine was then repassed over the skins and lees of our appassimento red grapes giving the wine added depth and flavour.
This wine is drinking beautifully now, with a slight chill if you
prefer. Continue to enjoy this wine through to the year 2020.
Very enjoyable on its own, or serve this wine with summer salads, risotto, picnic fare, roasted chicken, turkey or pork dishes.
