Our inaugural vintage Recioto, named in honour of our Founder Marisa Crispino. With aromas of peach, apricot, honey, and subtle hints of citrus and grapefruit. The palate is delightfully sweet with an impressive acidity (this wine is 10 years old!) to balance. With flavours of lemon meringue and peach pie, dried apricot and nectarine along with complex notes of butterscotch and pecans.

The 2010 vintage was one for the record books! With a hot and sunny growing season leading into a period of excellent harvest conditions. Our Estate Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc was hand-picked then set aside to dry for 90 days. After gentle pressing this wine was fermented in stainless steel then further aged on the lees. The fermentation process is halted when the optimal balance between sweetness and acidity is reached, this technique within Appassimento winemaking is called Recioto and is known in Italy as a dessert style wine comparative to Sauternes. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and we suggest you enjoy it over the next 1-2 years.
Serve this wine as an aperitif with duck pâté, blue and salty aged cheese, and savoury cured meats. Or, enjoy alongside desserts such as apricot tart, crème brûlée, classic cheesecake, or by itself.
