Tasting Notes
Named in honour of our Founder Marisa Crispino. With aromas of lemon curd, pineapple, fresh peach, and apricot. The palate is delightfully sweet with a bright acidity to balance. With flavours of lemon meringue and peach pie, dried apricot and nectarine.
Winemaking Notes
The 2016 vintage was hot and sunny, the vines produced fruit with very ripe flavours – a great Niagara vintage! Our Estate Vineyard Riesling was hand picked in early October then set aside to dry for 70 days. After gentle pressing this wine was fermented in stainless steel then further aged on the lees. The fermentation process is halted when the optimal balance between sweetness and acidity is reached, this technique within Appassimento winemaking is called Recioto and is known in Italy as a dessert style wine. This wine is drinking beautifully now, but will continue to evolve in your cellar through to the year 2026.
Food Pairings
Serve this wine as an aperitif with duck pâtés, cured meats and cheese plates. Or, enjoy alongside desserts such as lemon meringue pie, peach cobbler, tarte Tatin, or by itself.
