||The nose is layered with aromas of ripe dark blackberry, cassis, black fig, and cherry with subtle floral notes and oak spice. The palate has big elegant tannins which frame flavours of ripe blackcurrant, black fig, slight minty eucalyptus notes and cigar tobacco/leather. These flavours persist through to a very long, elegant finish.
||The 2013 vintage was mild but consistent which allowed for slow, even ripening of the grapes resulting in complex flavours and elegant tannin structure. This wine is made from 100% estate grown fruit, harvested, sorted, and set aside to dry for 125 days before being pressed. Fermented, and aged individually for 26 months in French and American oak before final blending and bottling. Drinking beautifully now, especially after time in a decanter. This wine will continue to cellar through to the year 2023.
||Serve this wine with grilled lamb, veal, beef roasts, filet mignon, cheese boards and dark chocolate.
