Tasting notes

The nose is layered with aromas of ripe blackcurrants, black cherry, eucalyptus, violet, hibiscus, and faint fennel and cinnamon. The palate has firm smooth tannins, exciting acidity and rich flavours of currants, cherry compote, baking spice and vanilla bean.

Food pairing

Serve this wine with Moroccan style lamb, osso bucco, beef bourguignon, steak with peppercorn sauce, hearty stews, and wild mushroom risotto.

Winemaker notes

Two years (2013 & 2014) of harsh winters resulted in a slightly reduced harvest for the 2015 vintage. The grapes were smaller in size giving a higher skin to juice ratio. This produced a wine with deep colour and complex flavours. A blend of 2 different vineyards of Petit Verdot adds to this wines complexity. The grapes were harvested, sorted, and set aside to dry for 60 days before being pressed. Fermented, and aged individually for 18 months in French and American oak before final blending and bottling. Enjoy now after a lengthy decant, or continue to cellar through to the year 2025.
