Food pairing
This wine is a very easy drinker and is sippable solo but it will also pair beautifully with some simple fare. You can start with charcuterie with mild to medium salami’s and prosciutto. Follow that with a variety of grilled foods such as grilled zucchini, fried Halloumi, herby Italian sausages and burgers with gooey, melted cheese and sautéed mushrooms.
Winemaker notes
A challenging growing season! A late start to the season, then warm and humid conditions throughout the summer meant we made extra investments in the vineyard to ensure healthy fruit at harvest. Harvest was later than usual, but the fruit did come in very healthy, flavourful and ripe. After fermentation and aging in oak barrels, the wine was Re-passed over skins then 4 Whisky barrels were filled to created the Whisky Barreled portion.
