||This luxurious wine has layers of dark fruit intermingled with rich whisky barrel notes. Aroma: Very rich, full aromas of mocha, dark chocolate, ripe black cherry and blackberry with hints of vanilla bean and leather. Taste: BIG voluptuous Cab Sauv! Ripe dark fruit like black cherry and blackberry together with smoky dark chocolate leading to a long and lingering finish. Drinking well upon release, this wine will further evolve in your cellar for 5-7+ years depending on how you enjoy your aged wines.
||A cool, long spring lead to a late start to the growing season with the cooler conditions persisting through to late June. Seemingly overnight a heat wave hit, causing temperatures to climb quickly and allowing the fruit to ‘catch-up’ through July and August to its normal growth stage. The warm temperatures continued through October, which allowed us to hang the fruit longer to get optimal phenolic ripeness. The result was a later harvest of ripe fruit that still held onto their crisp acidity. A mild winter and warm 2018 growing season lead to a good size crop, with some varieties surprising us with extra grapes.
