Tasting notes

With aromas of dark cherry, plums, dried figs, mulberry compote, violets, cigar box, leather and sarsaparilla. The palate has rich flavours to match the nose, with subtle spice and vanilla on the long finish. Enjoy now after time in a decanter, or cellar through to 2028.

Winemaker notes

The 2019 vintage of Apologetic consists of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Cabernet Franc, all sourced from our Crispino Vineyard in the Vinemount Ridge Sub Appellation in Niagara. After drying & fermentation the wine was aged in barrel for 31 months.

Apologetic Red 2019, like those vintages that have come before it have been and remain one of my favorite(s) from the Niagara Region. The traditional appassimento style wine of making is the favorite for both my wife and I.

the Apologetic series has nothing to apologize for. consistently spicy, full bodied and delicious. can't wait for a 2020 vintage of this.
