Temptress 2024
Floral | Raspberry | Dried fruit | Black Currant
Temptress 2024 is a single-vineyard Niagara red from Foreign Affair Winery's Crispino Estate on Vinemount Ridge. Crafted in the Italian appassimento tradition that Foreign Affair pioneered in Canada, ~25% of the fruit is dried before fermentation to add depth and concentration. The 2024 blend is 37% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot, and 17% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in French and American oak (30% new). Full-bodied, layered, and built for 10+ years of cellaring. 470 cases.

Tasting notes
Temptress 2024 opens with a medium-to-high-intensity nose of violets, dried fruit, raspberries, hard-boiled English lollies and cedar — aromatic and youthful, with high development potential as the wine settles into the cellar. On the palate, muddled dark fruits give way to stewed rhubarb, licorice spice and black currant, framed by balanced cool-climate acidity, full and broad tannins, warming alcohol and full body. The finish is long and high-intensity, lingering with the same layered character that defines the wine. As our winemaker puts it, Temptress is multi-dimensional — she opens slowly with air, revealing layer after layer. Older vines, complex fruit, only the very best barrels.
Food pairing
Beef Braciole, Lamb Spiedini, Shawarma off the BBQ, Eggplant Lasagna, Ratatouille, Ragù, rich tomato-based pastas, hard aged cheese.
Winemaker notes
Multi Dimensional characters, the wine opens with time revealing many different layers. Older vines, complex. Only the very best becomes Temptress.
