A celebration of Canadian excellence – the label on this wine reads “Sorry” on the front, and “Not Sorry” on the back. A statement which speaks to the quality of VQA wine being something Canadians should be wildly proud of, and unapologetic for. Of this inaugural vintage, a limited amount produced in Magnum and standard bottle size.
Aromas of cherry compote, blackcurrant, black cherry, dried fig, and cigar tobacco. The palate has rich and elegant flavours of black fig, dark cherry, currant and dark chocolate. Velvety smooth with fantastic balance.
The 2013 vintage was mild but consistent which allowed for slow, even ripening of the grapes resulting in complex flavours and elegant tannin structure.
A portion of the harvest was set aside and dried for 125 days before being pressed. This wine then spent 26 months maturing in select French and American oak barrels.
Enjoy now or cellar through to the year 2023.
Pair this wine with NY striploin or porterhouse steak with peppercorn sauce, grilled portobello mushrooms, venison, firm and blue cheeses, dark chocolate or a fine cigar. Enjoy now after a lengthy decant. This wine will continue to develop in your cellar through to the year 2025.
